golden years

I'm photographing a 50th wedding anniversary party this evening and I couldn't be more excited. Can you imagine, 50 years? Isn't that beautiful? Whenever I photograph a wedding, I can't help but think of my own marriage and wedding day. I like to think this helps me relate to my couples and support them as they begin their lives together as husband and wife. Photographing a married couple of 50 years is a little different. With this party, we're doing family portraits with their children and grandchildren, it's so wonderful. Honoring 50 years of marriage is very special. I am sure I'll think about my own marriage and wedding as I normally do, but with this celebration I will be looking up to this couple. Admiring the dedication and love they have for each other. Looking into the future and dreaming of being married for 50 years. I wonder what that must feel like? So tonight, I'll step through the looking glass and imagine 50 years of marriage. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the evening, dreaming about the golden years. I can only hope that all of my couples get to experience this anniversary together.
