forever : the university club, san francisco, california : san francisco wedding photographer

La Vie En Rose. Edith Piaf.

Becky and Jon were married August 27, 2011 at the University Club in San Francisco, California. This was a very special wedding for my husband and I because it was the marriage of our brother and sister-in-law. These two are truly fantastic people and together make an incredible couple.

The wedding day began with the girls getting pampered with hair, make-up and mimosas while the guys grabbed beers at a local pub. I asked my dear friend and favorite photographer, Aj of Adrian Jon Photography, to shoot this wedding with me. We photographed the guys in the University Club Bar. The scene felt like we stepped into a Frank Sinatra film, it was perfect. One of my favorite moments was when a ray of sunlight came through the window catching Jon's eye as he looked towards it. This moment moved in slow motion through my camera. It was documented digitally but, will forever be recorded in my mind as my brother-in-law on his wedding

We met with the girls in the bridal suite to capture Becky putting on her glorious wedding gown. Once her dress was on, it all became a dream. She was a vision and shining light. We gathered the girls and travelled up to the top floor for the ceremony.

As the ceremony was about to begin, I watched Becky take one final glance in the mirror. She walked over to her father and as their eyes met they both smiled and grasped each other's hands. One last moment with a father and his little girl. The ceremony was perfect. Their friend Scott officiated and Becky's sister-in-law read a poem. The light coming through the windows danced around the room as the guests lovingly witnessed Becky and Jon say their vows. Then they kissed. This was not any ordinary kiss but one made for an old Hollywood movie.

Following the ceremony we took Becky and Jon to the library for their first portrait and husband and wife. If you haven't been to the University Club library you must check it out. It's lined with beautiful antique books and leather arm chairs, I could have stayed there for days. Before the reception, we snuck outside for a quick photo with a trolley car, because a San Francisco wedding is just not complete without one.

The reception began with Becky's father toasting to the happy couple. We dined on cornish game hen and filet mignon, it was delicious. After dinner, Becky and Jon took their first dance together. From this point on the night flew by like wedding receptions usually do. Laughter, joy and dancing filled the ballroom. The guys were outside on the balcony smoking cigars as the families danced circles around the dance floor.

It was a beautiful wedding and one that will be recorded in my mind forever. My amazing brother-in-law married the love of his life and my family gained a beautiful sister and daughter-in-law (and Aunt Becky to little Finn!). Welcome to the family, Mrs. Gray!

 Love and Light,
Heather
