happy 2012

As the new year approaches, I've been reflecting on 2011. I've had the privilege to meet and photograph some amazing souls. People who shine bright and light up the world. I love what I do, all-caps LOVE it and I'm very excited about 2012. I have fantastic couples and some awesome plans for creative projects.

Each year, I enjoy making resolutions. They're a great way to push and challenge yourself to be the person you want to be. The past year has been very busy, fulfilling and amazing. Most of my 2011 resolutions were based on my business which were very helpful and exactly what I needed. This year my focus is a little more based on my family and creative work.

My resolutions for 2012 are:
go on monthly dates with my husband
have sunday record playing family time
do a personal project every other month
do something that scares me
do something I've always dreamed of

Do you make new year resolutions? How do you stay focused on keeping them? I like to use post-its as reminders and also keep a journal. It works for me. One of my constant inspirations beyond resolutions is a quote by Amantine Lucile Dupin, known by her pen name George Sand; "The artist vocation is to send light into the human heart." It speaks to my work and my life. It's a nice through line for my resolutions as well.

I hope you find ways to make the most out of 2012. Happy New Year!

Love and Light,
Heather
