caitlin and jason : boulder colorado engagement

When Caitlin, Jason and I began talking about their engagement photos, they both mentioned that they wanted to showcase Boulder, so they could share their city with their family and friends back home. I thought this was a very sweet idea, so we designed our shoot around a few of our favorite spots. We started on Pearl Street, the downtown promenade. We adventured to a few of my favorite photo spots and found a few new ones together. It was a very windy day here in Boulder, which is not uncommon, the storms move across the Rocky Mountains and drastically change the weather within minutes. But the weather worked in our favor a few times with magical gusts of wind that helped us create some beautiful photos. It was perfect.

We took a break from our blustery day with lattes and cafe au laits at the Trident, one of the best coffee shops and book stores in Boulder. One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is grabbing lunch or coffee with my couples before, after or in this case during our shoot. It gives us even more time to get to know each other. Caitlin and Jason are getting married this fall in Washington DC and I'm really looking forward to seeing these two get married.  They both sparkle when they look into each others eyes and you can feel their love with each glance, laugh and smile they share. So sweet!

After our coffee break we set out for Chautauqua for the classic Boulder Colorado Flatirons, photo. It was hazier than usual but the light was beautiful. Going along with Caitlin and Jason's desire to showcase their city, we went to one of my favorite spots above the city. It's on the way to Flagstaff and is a magical jewel hanging just below the clouds.

So friends and family of Caitlin and Jason, this is Boulder, Colorado through the eyes of these two love birds and my camera. It's a sweet city with ever changing weather and beautiful hiking trails and vistas.... oh and the coffee is delicious. Make sure you ask Caitlin and Jason to take you out for a cup when you visit. I hope you enjoyed our version of Boulder.

Love and Light,
Heather

  3. Caitlin & Jason,
These pictures are beautiful...while beautiful, as well, Boulder pales in comparison to the two of you! We are so happy for you, and are looking forward to your big day in October!
