forever : a small town wedding with big city charm : a lied lodge wedding : nebraska city, nebraska

Lauren and Jake's wedding was perfect. They planned a small town wedding with big city style and I loved every bit of it. Jake grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska 45 minutes from Nebraska City, Nebraska at the Lied Lodge and Arbor Day Farm where the wedding took place. The location was amazing, fruit trees, a rustic barn and a beautiful contemporary log cabin styled bed and breakfast.

Lauren and Jake decided to see each other before the wedding so we could take family formals as well as adventure around Nebraska City before the wedding. I love it when couples do this. It's a very personal choice for sure. This gave us plenty of time for photography and allowed me to get Lauren and Jake to their reception to join their friends and family.

The wedding ceremony took place on the lawn of the Lied Lodge over a backdrop of beautiful trees. Their ceremony was very personal and included readings from Lauren's mom and Jake's sister. Following the readings Jake and Lauren wrote their own vows which they recited together. It was awesome. I love how they both smiled from ear to ear the whole time and their first kiss was the sweetest!

For the reception the guests walked along a walking path through tall trees and romantic bridges. At the end of the path they found a rustic and magical barn accented by Nebraska barbecue and a fantastic honky tonk band straight from Austin Texas called the Derailers. The Derailers kept everyone dancing into the wee hours of the night. It was amazing! One of my favorite moments from the night was Lauren and Jake's first dance. They danced a two step that had everyone smiling. The room was filled with love!

It was an absolute honor to photograph Lauren and Jake's wedding. I was lucky to be able to bring one of my dear friends and one crazy-talented wedding photographer, Molly of Cedar House Photography, with me for this wedding. We had the best time!

Love and Light,
Heather
