Mother's Week : moments in motherhood and one incredibly grateful heart

This special post is dedicated to the amazing mothers I met this year. Mothers who just found out they're expecting, delivered their babies, are raising their little ones, sending them off to college, giving them away at weddings, snuggling their grandchildren, honoring the babies they've lost and invited me to be a part of all of those special moments. There isn't a day that goes by when I forget what an honor it is to be invited into the lives of my amazing clients, into these precious windows of time to hold onto forever. Thank you to each and every one of you for inspiring me and sharing with me the many beautiful stages of motherhood. I have so much to look forward to and so much to be thankful for as a mother, and witnessing your lives further cultivates in me the magical love a mother feels for her children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your hearts and souls with me. You're all incredibly inspiring to me and have left impressions of yourself on my heart and life as a mother.

With the deepest bow to each of you,
Love and Light,
Heather

mother's week : guiding little lights

Today's Mother's Week celebrates raising little ones to great human beings to spread their own wings and fly off on their own. In my humble, almost 4 years, as a mother, I cannot begin to know what it must feel like to have a 10 year old, a 15 year old and a kid going off to college, and everything those mothers much feel. It's hard to see past today sometimes, maybe into next week or next month but years from now, it's just so far away. There are times when my son looks at me and I see a flash of him as a teenager, and other times he smiles at me and I see that sweet baby I once knew. This is where that new perception of time comes in. It's like yesterday he was trying to figure out how to crawl and now he's trying to figure out how to ride a bike and 12 years from now he'll be asking to drive my car.  How is that going to happen? Time can't possibly go by that fast, but every parent I've ever talked to tells me it does. They give me gentle warnings that life is going to flash before my eyes and before i know it, Finnian will be going off to college. One thing's for sure, that experiencing life through his eyes is pretty darn awesome and I am trying my darndest to be present in today.

So this post is to all mothers, these amazing souls who guide their little lights through this wild and wonderful world. The joy, hard work and magic of being a mother. The amazing love these little ones inspire, cultivate and create. Thank you to the amazing mothers who shared their lives with me, I'm inspired by each and every one of you, and having the honor to witness you raising your beautiful lights is such a joy. Happy Mother's Week!

Love and Light,
Heather
