fluttering leaves : a walk with my son

Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree. Emily Bronte

Autumn is my favorite time of year. Growing up in Northern California, I never experienced Fall like I have in Colorado. It's captivating. The changing seasons have a way of making me feel more connected to the earth. I very much enjoy it.

This afternoon my son, sweet pup and I went on a walk and admired the turning leaves. Finn's very interested in trees these days. He can't use his words to tell me what he's thinking yet but as we passed a few vibrant trees near our home he stopped to point at them. We picked up some colorful leaves and played in a pile of them on our lawn. I hope Finn's curiosity follows him throughout his life. Breathing in the world's tiny details and admiring it's beauty is something I wish for everyone. It gives me perspective and inspires patience.

As the sun began to set we went inside for dinner. Finn carried a few leaves inside and put them in his dump truck which doubles as a treasure chest of things he finds around our house. It was the perfect ending to one of our last autumn days.

Love and Light,
Heather
